Howdy Knights and welcome back to the 2021-2022 school year. A school year that is different from any other school year. Who would think that walking into IECHS, all together, would be a "thing?" After functioning in a hybrid world, we are excited to return to full days of in-person instruction on our special campus...TOGETHER. I know we play the song at nauseum but... "WE ARE FAMILY"... and families support each other. Your IECHS FAMILY is YOUR COMMUNITY. IECHS remains committed to support you through your 4 year journey and to grow you into a "solid" young person. Family is not always genetic in nature....family can be whomever you depend on for support, to laugh with, to play with, to share challenges and rewards of life with. IECHS is FAMILY! We are CONNECTED. WHEN you graduate from IECHS you will have made connections unlike any traditional high school.
What changes can you expect this year at IECHS? We are going to proceed through this school year as if it were any other school year; However, we will be very cognizant that we are still managing life during a pandemic. What does that mean? IECHS will encourage social distancing and respecting personal space, remind everyone that hygiene is of the utmost importance, and that masks are recommended and not required. We are also "cracking down" on tardiness and dress code items. Not because we like too but because it is our job and we want students in class, learning. We can't learn when we are late and/or spending time duck taping our jeans. Please, Please- TCOB!!! School business aside, I welcome and value your positive energy and attitude towards academic and personal growth. A small change: we will do "spirit line" differently this year. IECHS will now have "THE ACCOLADE." The Accolade is a once a month celebration of FAMILIES, competition, teacher/student entertainment, and presentation of the TCOB key and The ACCOLADE AWARD. Why are we calling it "THE ACCOLADE?" The Accolade is a painting by British artist Edmund Leighton. In this painting the Queen is "Knighting" a young man for his achievements. Websters dictionary :ac·co·lade | \ ˈa-kə-ˌlād , -ˌläd \Definition of accolade 1a: a mark of acknowledgment : AWARDreceived the highest accolade of his profession b: an expression of praisea movie that has drawn accolades from both fans and critics 2a: a ceremonial embrace b: a ceremony or salute conferring knighthood We will also start hosting Friday karaoke during all lunches led by Mr. Davis. We are still working on this but hope to have "Knight 'K'afe Karaoke" up and running sooner than later. We are excited to start new traditions and celebrations on our campus. Remember, I need you guys to bring the PARTY and the SPIRIT...this is what will make it fun!!!!!! #TCOB #KnightPride Mrs. Beal, aka T$ Due to the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, we will continue to be mindful of each other's space, encourage proper hygiene, and recommend wearing masks. As Spring Break approaches and the sun is poking its rays out a wee bit more, it is time to embrace our week long break. Knights, you deserve the time to relax, socialize, sleep, play video games-all the things you might have neglected during the course of the year. Embrace life. While I understand some of you will still be attending your college courses, I know you will embrace the extra free time around those classes. On a separate note, the end of the year is quickly approaching and the TIME is NOW to FINISH STRONG and PURSUE all that life has to offer ...."it's the POWER of YET." Enjoy the video below!
