2021 has either been the worst or one of the worst years and a year we truly wanted to forget; the country has suffered through a pandemic, it’s more divided than ever, and even worse I still haven’t gotten my Popeye’s chicken sandwich, but for other people such as ex-president Trump, it has been terrible. Trump got one heck of a year that we will truly never forget, by allegedly inciting a coup to overthrow the government and getting impeached twice! And worst, getting canceled on Twitter for life which I got to say, I’m gonna miss him so much. Say what you want, he truly makes Twitter great again. But that didn't stop Trump now that he created his own social media website called “45office.com,” which gives a lengthy biography about the former president, and you can even sign up right now, like I did.
But out of the gate, a brand new president had to come in and he came big by being the first white president named Joseph Robinette Biden. And what a shock for me, and probably many more, to find out that the middle name of Joe Biden is Robinette! And we finally have our first woman (of color) as Vice-President Kamala Harris. Since we are talking about the president we cannot skip over the biggest challenge of the Biden presidency, and no, it is not the vaccines, it is not the crisis at the border, it is the darn STAIRS. A White House spokesperson has blamed a wind gust for President Biden stumbling three times as he tried to climb the stairs onto Air Force One. I’m sorry but what, The President got knocked over by WIND? Like why couldn't they say that he tripped? Tripping on stairs is a normal thing, but saying you got blown over by the wind is so freaking weird! It’s like when a fast food company says, “now with real meat”! You're gonna be like “Wait what? What the HECK was I eating before? And this thing has happened to every ex-President, Obama tripped, Mike Pence tripped. That’s one thing that Trump was good at. He understood that. You walk up slowly, and you hold the banister with your life! Except for that time when Trump had toilet paper stuck to his shoe . . . but let’s move on. There was some good news (I know, shocking) there is finally a vaccine and it's the only thing on earth that’s stored colder than Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. Every day more and more people are getting the vaccine and I encourage everyone to get the vaccine to protect you and your family. However, after being closed indoors and being very cautious, people cannot quite bring themselves out, even when I smile, I'm like, “what is it, why are my jaws moving, and it is a COVID symptom?” So here is a story about a grandmother who could finally visit her family after getting the vaccine. Some people say the best medicine is laughter and love, well for one lady that is exactly what the doctor ordered. Evelyn Shaw got a prescription from her doctor saying, “You are allowed to hug your Granddaughter.” Evelyn responded by hugging her Granddaughter and saying, “That hug is a hug I’m going to remember forever”. You got to admit that this is a sweet, sweet story, unless we find out the doctor that is the doctor’s treatment for everything. Another heartwarming story is the boy who helps dogs get adopted. These dogs had always had a hard time getting picked first, and a 14-year-old boy helped them get picked faster. Darius Brown helps dogs stand out in the crowd with bow ties. He has sent hundreds of bow ties and sent them to animal shelters so their adoption pictures are cuter and they are more likely to be chosen, and I can say they are so cute! Just to end things here I want to say “thank you” for every teacher who supported me and encouraged me to do better and hopefully everyone gets the vaccine, so we could finally be free from this virus and also hopefully no one turns into a zombie, like they did in I am Legend (By the way, no thank you, Emma Thompson, for turning everyone into a zombie and killing that poor little dog, WHY did you kill her!?). So hopefully everyone has a great summer and best of luck for everyone to survive this Corona Hunger Games! |
